Fungi Sculptures
My fungi sculptures were one of my very first artistic passions, and they remain close to my heart. Each mushroom is sculpted entirely by hand from cold porcelain clay, without the use of moulds. This allows every piece to grow its own character—no two are ever the same, just as in nature.
Once sculpted, the fungi are painted with acrylics in soft, natural tones, capturing the gentle colours and markings found on wild mushrooms. I pair these sculptures with pieces of driftwood gathered from the Dorset coastline, letting each curve and texture of the wood guide the final composition. The driftwood and fungi come together to form small, grounded worlds—little reminders of the quiet life that thrives in the hedgerows, woodlands, and damp corners of the earth.
These sculptures celebrate the beauty of the humble and the overlooked. They honour the subtle magic of the forest floor, where life grows quietly, patiently, and often unseen.
Each piece is unique, shaped by hand, touched by the sea, and inspired by the natural wonder that first sparked my desire to create.
